Hi guys.  I'm building an exposed aggregate bar for a client.  The bar is actually exposed, meaning i'm hosing off the top layer of concrete to expose the stone.  Long story short, she loved the sample other than the fact that the epoxy was too shiny.  I tried a couple other sealers but they did not give the look we were wanting.  My question is, can I buff out a super shiny epoxy sealer to make it satin or matt or anything not super glossy?  Keep in mind that the rocks are exposed and this top is far from being a smooth reverse cast.  Any input would be awesome -

Thanks,

Jeremia

Thanks Chad, are you talking about a polyurathane from sherwin williams?
A friend of mine has tried thinning 100% solid epoxy 100% with xylene and spraying it through a hvlp gun. He likes the look and strength, I want to give this a try as well. Just a thought. Also there are products that you can apply over as well that matte it out like the other guy on this post was saying. Try calling Crown Polymers in Huntley Il, Mike is a nice guy very helpful on the epoxy end. Also Design Crete Final Coat, great matte two part urethane product you can apply over epoxy. We dig the matte look this gives us, talk to Tim over there.

Thanks Chad. It sounds exactly what i'm looking for. Do you have a contact for me? No need on the sample, i'll just order some. Thanks for the offer though.

No wasn't talking about that urarhane. The main thing here is same manufacture that makes the epoxy should make the urathane I could send you a sample pack from polymer science corp. 100% solid epoxy with a mat urathane top coat. It's bullet proof
Thanks Tommy, I'll call them Tuesday. Awesome info -
