I know this pops up on occasion but have not seen too much recent talk about UPC certification.

I’m doing commercial project and the plumbing inspector wants us to "provide a certificate of listing for our products from an ANSI accredited third party plumbing product listing agency such as UL, IAPMO, CSA etc."

From calling around it seems getting a sink “listed” runs around $7500 plus sending the sink to the lab.  For custom sinks this just seems to kill the project. Has anyone else come across this and have any ideas on how to get this past inspection without the prohibitively large fee.  Brandon, have you had to get your sinks “listed”?

Thanks everyone.

You made my night Alla.  Thank you to all who replied.

A friend of mine works for a huge state run business.  They have a rule that everything has to have a 3 prong plug that plugs into an outlet.  So, if they buy something like a lamp with a two conductor chord, they have to have a grounding plug installed.  They don't change the chord to a 3 conductor, just the plug. Go figure.

So once they cut the cord, doesn't that void any UL listing? :)
