hi Darby i know what ya mean about the economy being down the toilet - i come from a carpentry background and there is absolutely no work around, so im spending all day everyday playing with concrete :) ,that guy Ian White is the same one i got my stuff from, must be the only bloke over here suppling gfrc materials - he even had some vcas! - i just got Gore's second dvd yesterday on fabric forming and its an amazing eye opener - now ive got to find a whole host of other wild and wonderfull materials which are probably really difficult to source in uk

Hi Darby,

Nice to hear from you mate. I have tried to e-mail you since our class and always had problems getting through. Nice to know of another brother in the network. Thanks for your comments on my work. Looking forward to seeing some of yours. This is a nice site to share on. Yes I have taken GFRC classes through Cheng and Jim Rolston. The economy is hard for all of us, so on the side I work on art projects. Again good hearing from you. Stay in touch

We are doing very well, times are slow then it all changes very quick. I have taken cheng's GFRC class but have not spent much time doing it. We have been doing more wet cast projects and have been spending some time doing pieces for local art galleries. Glad to hear that your up and running sounds like you could control the whole market there!

hi Darby,

i got my materials for gfrc from www.power-sprays.com the super p and acrylic both come in 25 litre containers and the fibres come in 20 kgs they cost about 60 - 70 quid for each item but there's more than enough to experiment with, which is good because you need a lot of practice (well i did anyway) not as easy as gore makes it look on the dvd! i got a marshalltown hopper gun from amazon for about £80 - just plugs straight into a compressor

how is the countertop business over in Ireland have you been doing it long? ive only just started here in Wales done 1 bathroom vanity top so far and about 10 practice gfrc basins, just been trying to perfect my mix design and finishing technique before im let loose in peoples homes!

im finding it quite difficult to get a decent sealer in uk what have you been using?

Iam very good, its nice to here from you. I hope you and your family are well I only really launched my countertop business in September this year (could have picked a better time the way the ecomony is going here) I dont know yet if it will take off ,there is no established market here in concrete countertops which is good in one way but it also means I will have to convince people to buy the product, so far I am getting a very good responce from people who see the work I have done ,but converting that into sales is an other thing,How are things going for you? have you got into GFRC yet? .there is always some thing else to learn I have seen some of your work on the fourm its classy stuff!
